IllustrationFriday topic: "Germs"

TheSquirrel is 5 years old. We happened to be reading a great book about germs (below) when the IllustrationFriday topic was "germs"!! She drew a germ from the book: this is the one that would make you throw up.
It is by Judith Rice & Reed Merrill
(Here he is in the book, drawn by Mr. Merrill)
We love comments!

IllustrationFriday topic: "Pattern"

TheSquirrel is 5 years old. She is learning patterns. Her fish's stripes have an ABC pattern to them, and then together we added the background photo.
We were excited for the IllustrationFriday topic of "Pattern", and naturally made a fish,
because of this great book we were reading and learning from:
Comments welcome!!

IllustrationFriday topic: "Infinite"

TheSquirrel is 5 years old. When asked what she thought of with the word "Infinite, (which means something goes on and on forever)," she said "hot-air balloons" because she imagines that they would float in the sky forever if you never landed them.
We digitally added textures to her original drawing.
This guy's holding on to the ropes. (everyone else is hiding inside the basket, a.k.a. she didn't feel like drawing any more people)
This is her original crayon drawing. I love that each balloon had its own design: a house balloon, a hot-air balloons balloon, a "Bingo" balloon (the grid one), a big white egg balloon, and a universe balloon. haha!

TheSquirrel's first Illustration Friday!

This week's topic = "Welcome."
TheSquirrel is 5 years old. When asked about "welcome," her thought was of a Mommy (me) having a baby (her) and saying "welcome!"
Here is what she made. We like doing collage.
Below is a detail of the part she spent the most time on: the baby's hat. She insisted it be pink and white squares so she cut tiny squares of fabric to glue onto white fabric.
I liked how she had the mom's fingers wrapping up from the bottom of the bundle.
She will really enjoy comments (below)! Thank you!
